QASIP Pathway 07

Ramadan and Food Aid

Support carefully arranged food parcels, cooked meals and emergency food distributions for families facing hardship.

Ramadan and Food Aid
Students know the anticipation of iftar. This pathway asks them to consider a household preparing for the same sunset while uncertain about what food will be available. Empathy becomes research, planning and action.
The Problem

Families experiencing hardship may struggle to obtain sufficient food during Ramadan or periods of acute need.

Driving Question

How can we design a dignified food-support project that helps families receive meaningful assistance during Ramadan or times of hardship?

Possible Student Solution

Investigate food insecurity and household needs; design a balanced food-support concept; calculate quantities and costs; create a school-approved campaign; and contribute to an available food-aid pathway.
