A Sheep (Premium) Qurbani offers a higher-quality and larger sheep, carefully selected for its superior health and size, while fully adhering to Islamic (Shariah) guidelines, where the animal must be at least one year old (or younger if fully grown according to some scholars), free from defects such as blindness, severe illness, or deformities, and sacrificed by trained Muslims with proper recitation and humane handling, with each sheep representing one complete Qurbani for an individual, following the Sunnah of the Prophets including Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, and the increased meat yield is distributed among family, relatives, and especially the poor and needy, ensuring your sacrifice carries deep spiritual significance while delivering greater nourishment, impact, and benefit to underprivileged communities.

Sheep (Al-Ghanam) — The Sunnah of the Prophets

1. Minimum and Maximum Age:

  • A sheep should be at least 1 year old (some scholars allow 6 months if it is fully grown and healthy).
  • No strict maximum age, but it must be healthy, mature, and free from defects.

2. Shares and Participation:

  • One sheep per person — unlike cows, sheep cannot be shared among multiple people.
  • Each person’s sacrifice is individual, making it simple and direct.

3. Condition of the Sheep:

  • Must be healthy and free from major defects like:
    • Blindness
    • Broken horns
    • Severe illness
    • Significant deformities affecting meat quality

4. Distribution of Meat:

  • Traditionally, the meat is divided into three parts:
    1. For family consumption
    2. For friends and relatives
    3. For the poor and needy

5. Spiritual Significance and Sunnah:

  • Sheep were the preferred sacrificial animal of the Prophets, including Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
  • Using sheep follows the Prophetic tradition (Sunnah) and keeps the practice simple, accessible, and spiritually meaningful.
  • The act emphasizes humility, devotion, and obedience to Allah, as each person offers their own animal.

6. This is a service-based religious offering. FAKT Impex Inc. (LL18894) provides the procurement, sacrifice, and charitable distribution of the meat in Africa. We do not ship or deliver live animals to the customer.
